DOUBLE MINI A HUGE HIT WITH THE KIDS & THE POWER TUMBLING PROGRAM!
Last May the Kids for Sports Foundation, along with the City of Mesquite sponsored the purchase of a New Double Mini Trampoline. Since then the Double Mini is being used daily by approximately 100+ kids in the power tumbling program.
Since the purchase of the new Double Mini Trampoline, the city has now confirmed a State Tournament next April in Mesquite with anywhere from 1,500 to 3,000 kids participating.
~ KFS Donates to Help Purchase a Double Mini Trampoline ~
On May 14, 2019 the Kids for Sports was excited to present a check for $4,000 to help purchase a piece of equipment for all the kids in the city at the City Council meeting. Along with the City of Mesquite the Kids for Sports Foundation is proud to be a sponsor towards the purchase of the very needed new Double Mini Trampoline for the Gymnastics and Tumbling program. Still keeping with our original mission statement, this is just another way to help the kids in the community be able to play team sports.
Just over a year ago the executive team and owners of Wolf Creek Golf Club came up with an idea that would positively impact the surrounding community. Combining their love for children and the love of sports, the Kids for Sports Foundation was created. As they say “the rest is history”.
The Kids for Sports Mission Statement:
“To ensure all kids are given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of playing organized sports. We do this by helping remove financial and other barriers that prevent kids from participation in sports”.
It has taken almost a year of hard work by the advisory committee, the support of the community, and dedication of the volunteers to get us to where we are now. We were able to get our 501(c)3 designation in 6 months when most organizations take well over a year. The Kids for Sports Foundation has filed the necessary paperwork with the State of Nevada to be licensed as a Domestic Non-Profit Corporation and have been granted sales/use tax exemption status. We have held several fundraisers and have been actively introducing Kids for Sports to the community.
Kids for Sports held a charity golf outing at Wolf Creek Golf Club on January 17, 2015. The event was sold out in 2 weeks and had several groups on a waiting list. The final numbers are not in yet but the 144 golfers helped raise over $13,000 for the Kids for Sports Foundation. More importantly, the funds raised will allow children in need to realize their dreams of playing organized sports in the very near future. The applications for grants will be available by the end of March 2015; with the goal of distributing funds to the athletes shortly thereafter. The Kids for Sports Foundation is excited to be sponsoring a Little League team this year. If you know of a child or team that could benefit from the Kids for Sports Foundation please let them know about our program. “The outpouring of support for this charity is truly overwhelming”.
The first fundraising event for Kids for Sports was the “Wine Fest and Auction” held in April 2014. That event was so successful that we have decided to host the 2nd annual Kids for Sports
